Unlocking the Archives – Exploring Youthfulness:

  1. Plant Specimen Creation and Digitalization Workshop

    • Date: February 23, 113th year (Friday), 14:00-17:00
    • Location: National Taiwan Museum, South Gate Museum, Small White House, Collection Building (No. 1, Section 1, Nan Chang Road, Zhongzheng District, Taipei City)
    • Description: In addition to visiting the museum's archives in person and closely observing various forms of plant specimens, participants will engage in discussions on topics such as important specimens, evidence of existence, diplomatic activities of museum scientists, possibilities for future preservation, and the functions of museums. They will also experience the creation and digitalization of vascular plant specimens.
  2. Introduction to Insect Specimen Collection Management and Digitalization

    • Date: March 21, 113th year (Thursday), 14:00-17:00
    • Location: National Taiwan Museum, South Gate Museum, Small White House, Collection Building (No. 1, Section 1, Nan Chang Road, Zhongzheng District, Taipei City)
    • Description: Participants will enter the insect collection archives to learn about collection management operations, selected collection object introductions, and examples of contemporary specimen display planning and integration of biodiversity information, followed by hands-on experience with the digitalization process of specimen images.
  3. The Secret Journey of the Railway Department – Exploring Hidden Gems

    • Date: March 13, 113th year (Wednesday), 14:00-15:00; March 16, 113th year (Saturday), 14:00-15:00
    • Location: Railway Department Park, National Taiwan Museum (No. 2, Section 1, Yanping North Road, Datong District, Taipei City)
    • Description: In addition to using exploration tools to learn about the architectural history of the past, participants will visit railway department park attractions that are not regularly open to the public, including roof trusses, air raid shelters, and hall bay windows.
  4. Adult Restoration Workshop – Craftsman Experience

    • Date: March 14, 113th year (Thursday), 14:00-15:00
    • Location: Railway Department Park, National Taiwan Museum (No. 2, Section 1, Yanping North Road, Datong District, Taipei City)
    • Description: Participants will be led through hands-on experiences such as plaster molding and demolding, as well as on-site tours, to learn about the cultural heritage preservation traditional techniques of repairing century-old monuments.
